2007 Praxis Pinot Noir Monterey
Current Vintage
Pinot Noir was the first wine we made under the Praxis label. Praxis is derived from the Greek word for practice as a doctor or lawyer practices their craft. Praxis was also a pre-Arts and Crafts philosophy espousing the importance of striving for perfection while knowing that it will never be fully achieved. Since launching the label, we have also found that it is a moon of the Klingon home planet on Star Trek and a verb for domination in an on-line vampire game.

2005 Praxis Lagrein
Current Vintage
The wine is deep, dark red and has the body of a Merlot. Rich, ripe plum and berry flavors are accented by nuances of vanilla and chocolate. Medium-bodied with a silky mouth feel, the wine is ready to drink now.

2006 Praxis Merlot
Current Vintage
Ruby highlights dance in the deep red liquid while aromas of plum, red currant, toasty vanilla and violet fill the glass. Rich berry and black cherry notes are complemented by mocha and dark, unsweetened chocolate flavors. The wine has balanced, mouth filling flavor with good depth, finish and round firm tannins.

2007 Praxis Dry Syrah Rose
Current Vintage
The wine is a beautiful salmon color with a floral, strawberry nose. Flavors of strawberry, watermelon and guava are accented by a little spice and vanilla. The wine is dry and has bright acidity with a medium body.

2006 Praxis Viognier Lodi
Current Vintage
This is our fifth vintage from the same vineyard in Lodi. Although we are a Sonoma County winery, the warmth of the growing conditions there are closer to the climatic conditions of the Southern Rhone Valley in France. Bill feels the Viognier grapes need more heat than we can get in Sonoma County to fully develop their varietal characteristics. He selected the Geneva clone of Viognier which imparts less floral aroma and more flavors of peaches and apricot to the wine. The wine was fermented in stainless steel to retain the purest expression of the grapes.
